WHO’S BEEN SLEEPING IN MY BED?
I loved fairy tales when I was much younger. I hardly missed an opportunity to read them. I read almost all of them, From the moving tales of Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to the adventurous Jack and the Beanstalk.
The title of this piece is taken from a fairy tale.
I guess the child in me still lives!
Today I discuss a topic that is disturbing and real, in contrast to the fantasy of fairy tales.
The title of this piece is taken from a fairy tale titled Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
In the story, a little girl wanders into the woods and comes to a cottage where three bears live. She enters and lies on the beds of each bear. The daddy bear’s bed was too big for her, the mummy bear’s bed was still too big but the baby bear’s was just right!
And Goldilocks lay on it and fell asleep.
Till the cries of the bears, ‘ Who’s been sleeping in my bed? woke her up. Goldilocks jumped out of the bed and ran out of the cottage.
This piece is not about a little girl running out of a cottage.
It is about women who are sleeping in men’s beds!
Like Goldilocks, they have no business being there.
Because the men in question are married!
So they are climbing into the beds of other women and defiling them.
I can understand how loneliness can hold you in a vice-like grip when you are single. When you hunger for a male touch and an empty bed confronts you.
You may meet a man who fulfils all your fantasies. He “loves” you as much as you love him. He tells you how HORRIBLE his wife is and how BLISSFUL his life has become since you became a part of it.
You fall for his lies and tell yourself that you are tired of being single and waiting for an eligible bachelor that is so elusive. You convince yourself that he was DESTINED to be your husband but fell into the wrong hands!
You have no justification to sleep in another woman’s bed. She has her pains that you know nothing of. Do not add to them by wrecking her marriage.
My dear single sister, you cannot build your happiness on another person’s ruin.
If you have been doing it, retrace your steps from that path of destruction.
Pray to share a bed with your OWN HUSBAND.
Don’t be tempted to sleep in another woman’s bed!
