YOU NEVER WALK ALONE
I want to sound a note of warning before I start writing this piece.
For those of you who are excited at the title, I want to inform you that I do not support your club.
This piece is not a celebration of any football club.
It is the story of a child of destiny, comfortably leaning on the everlasting arms.
A lady was walking alone along a lonely bush path. She got home safely and thanked God for divine protection. She was shocked to learn that a lady had passed that same bush path not long after she did and was raped by two men. The men were caught some time later and they were asked why they did not touch the first lady. They replied that she had a huge, armed body guard besied her and they could not overpower him so they let her go.
The lady insisted that she was alone that day. the men insisted that they saw their bodyguard. It was then it dawned on the lady.
The huge bodyguard was her guardian angel.
Though she walked alone that night, she had an invisible bodyguard.
A woman had a housemaid who suddenly ran away. When she tried to ask the girl why, she burst into tears and made a shocking revelation. She wanted to stab the lady’s daughter and a huge man appeared with a knife and threatened to kill her if she did. She ran away, terrified.
The huge man was the little girl’s guardian angel.
In the book of First Kings chapter six verse seventeen, the bible records:
And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
The young man was terrified of adversaries and God showed him that those who were with them were more than those who are against them.
When you are walking with God, you never walk alone. Not on the football fields of Liverpool but on the pathways of life.
Wherever you go, you carry divine presence.
And if God is for you, which man can destroy you?
