WHERE IS DINAH?
A few days ago, I wrote a piece titled Faces of Dominion which talked about Joseph and his brothers.
As I wrote that piece, a thought came to my mind.
Hello! Joseph did not have only brothers.
He had A SISTER!
Let’s look at what the bible says about her.
And afterward she bare a daughter and called her name Dinah.
Why was this lady omitted among the TWELVE TRIBES OF ISRAEL?
This question has been on my mind and I decided to write about it.
The next time we heard about Dinah, the story did not end well. The Bible records that she went to visit the daughters of the land and was defiled. (Genesis 34)
Why was Dinah forgotten?
She had several female counterparts in the Bible who did great exploits.
Deborah the war herorine
Ruth the Moabite who got a place in the genealogy of Jesus.
Even Rahab the prostitute was numbered among the chosen Israelite nation and is likely to be the one mentioned in the genealogy of Jesus.
Esther the queen whose act of bravery saved her people from destruction
The various women in the ministry of Jesus
The women who ministered to the apostles especially Dorcas whose generous deeds gave her a chance to live again.
And many other women whose names were written in gold in the word of God.
I ask again, ‘Why was Dinah forgotten?’
I don’t have the answer but one thing I know is, ‘I do not want to be forgotten.’
When I depart this place, I want people to look at my footprints and say, ‘A great one passed this way.’
What about you, dear sister?
