WHAT’S IN YOUR BRIEFCASE?

I just emerged from a very wonderful experience. I am still basking in the blessings I received from it. I am referring to the just concluded Excellence in Leadership Conference(ELC) at Daystar Christian Centre, Lagos.
Over the next few weeks, I will share lessons I learnt from that amazing meeting. Today I share one of them.
One of the speakers at that conference spoke of how he was assigned to be the prayer officer/counsellor for former American president, Bill Clinton.
One day while he talked with Mr Clinton, one of Clinton’s aides came in with THE BLACK BRIEFCASE, popularly known as THE FOOTBALL. The man saw that Mr President had a guest and dropped the FAMOUS BLACK BRIEFCASE next to that of the prayer officer.
On his way home, the president’s counsellor could not contain his excitement. He was thinking of who to tell the spectacular news: The FAMOUS BLACK BRIEFCASE was actually placed next to his ORDINARY BRIEFCASE.
As he pondered on it, the divine voice spoke in his ears, ‘Why are you so excited about a briefcase that is probably a weapon of destruction? What’s in your own briefcase?’
And he opened his briefcase and brought out his bible. And the voice said, ‘Appreciate your own briefcase. Do not be ashamed of what’s in it.’
The counsellor as he addressed the crowd at ELC in an emotional voice said, ‘My briefcase contains The Bible. It is the word of God. It gives life. It does not destroy. It is the power of God unto salvation. I am not ashamed of what’s in my briefcase. I am not as powerless as I think I am because I carry God with me.’
Last week, I wrote about the danger of trying to live someone else’s life in the message titled TRADING PLACES.Today I talk about a similar message.
Remember the story of Moses in The Bible? God asked what he had in his hand. He said a rod. It was a MERE ROD to him. But God turned it into an OBJECT OF SIGNS AND WONDERS! Never underestimate what you have.
What’s in your own BAG or BRIEFCASE?
