WAITING AND BLEEDING

My attention was called to a tweet by someone: Rita Dominic set to get married at 40 when she is almost reaching menopause.
To say that I was grieved to read it is to put my feelings mildly.
I remembered a programme on television called Excite on TV and the anchor person(sadly a woman) was speaking about a TV presenter and said: “We pray she gets married soon before her beautiful face develops wrinkles.”
I was saddened that a fellow woman would make such a DAMAGING statement when she should know how it feels………I will stop there.
While I was still meditating on these things, a friend posted on her wall: This time last year, someone actually looked me in the face and said I will never get married.
How callous!
What is happening to our feelings? Have we become so insensitive that we throw missles at ‘waiting souls’ not caring the outcome
I read a story of a man who, while dedicating his child after many years of “waiting” said that he was castigated one day during a national assembly meeting. A bill was to be passed and he made a comment. Someone stood up and said, “I am not surprised you are saying this. After all, you do not have a child…………..”
ON THE FLOOR OF THE NIGERIAN NATIONAL ASSEMBLY!
Wetin? E don reach like that?
Is it a crime to “HAVE A DELAY IN LIFE?”
Obviously the people who made the nasty comments I have listed have spouses and children which they think THEY GOT BY THEIR OWN POWER so they feel they can DESTROY those who do not have them with their tongues.
We have to realise that there is nothing we have in life that we GOT by our own power. The bible tells us that a man cannot receive anything except it is given from above; Except the Lord builds the house, they labour in vain that build it and Promotion does not come from the east or west but from the Lord.
Put these three scriptures together and you will realise that NO ONE HAS ANY RIGHT TO BOAST ABOUT WHAT THEY HAVE AND MOCK THOSE WHO DO NOT HAVE THOSE THINGS.
If you think you have a spouse because you are WONDERFUL, see those who are more beautiful/handsome, more intelligent who cannot attract a spouse.
If you think you got that job because you work so hard and are too smart, see those who work harder than you who are jobless.
If you think you have a child because you were “a good single” and “kept yourself”, see those who married as virgins who are crying to have EVEN ONE CHILD.
See all these pictures and be thankful.
My dear readers, let us stop the WAITING AND BLEEDING process.
If a lady is single, she is MS- Which I hear means “miserable spinster” But a man is eligible bachelor. The unmarried women are more often at the centre stage of sarcastic jokes. Once a lady is a “mature single” it has to be because of three reasons:
- She was morally bankrupt when she was young so no man wants to marry her.
2. She has a spirit husband.
3. She is “selecting too much” – My mum’s friend actually told her daughter: Christy, you too select, man na man so far e nor craze. Can you believe that?
A mature single lady is treated like an endangered species. Every little step she takes, the comment is usually “no wonder she is not married.” Is it a sin to be single? Singleness is not a stigma even though they both start with “s”
So Rita Dominic is approaching menopause at 40 and should be mocked because she is not married. What is menopause? Who paused it? God or man? Read about mothers after 40 and mothers after 50 and know that “only you can “pause” yourself.”
If the writer of that tweet said: Rita Dominic is getting married, Praise God, would the sky have fallen down? I don’t think so.
I am a mature single so I can understand what Rita Dominic is going through. I can imagine how she will feel if she reads that tweet. It is bad enough to be waiting almost endlessly for a blessing but worse when you are WAITING AND BLEEDING because of the way you are treated.
Many of us have been guilty of this game of mockery at one point or the other. Let us stop being “blood thirsty” Let us encourage, motivate and show love to those who are “waiting”
Even if the person “waiting” was a prostitute, committed several abortions, was a criminal, EVERYONE DESERVES A SECOND CHANCE.
Listen up people, NOBODY came to this world with a spouse, child and material possessions. We got them here on earth. Let people wait for God’s time and obtain their blessings. Stop pushing people through negative comments to “run ahead of God” to get blessings before time.
I celebrate Rita Dominic.
I celebrate the other mature single women ESPECIALLY who are WAITING and BLEEDING but have chosen to WAIT TILL GOD’S TIME.
We shall all be married. We shall all walk down the altar with tears of joy, shouts of victory and “our dignity” intact.
Let us WORK HARD to get our blessings, let us WALK hand in hand with God to bring the blessings and let us BLESS and not “bleed” those who are waiting.
I rest my case!
