S.W.A.L.K

You need to belong to a particular generation to understand the meaning of this abbreviation. It was used in bygone days as a payoff line for a love letter. Boys wrote those letters in those days. They used words like:
I hope you are still basking in the ocean of vitality. If so, doxology.
I write this letter as I stand parallel to the ground and perpendicular to the wall.
As I see you, my heart is beating……………….
Let me stop there.
These letters were usually signed off with the abbreviation, S.W.A.L.K which means ‘sealed with a loving kiss.’
The moment a guy sent this to a lady, she became the envy of her friends. The lady in question would walk around with a swollen head, practically floating on the clouds. Such games that seemed so good then but are considered obsolete now.
Many of us will be shocked at some of the things we did in our younger days. If our lives were recorded and the video played back, we would wish the ground should swallow us.
During that period, those things seemed very right to do. However, there are still some childhood tendencies that never leave us.
Many adults still watch cartoons, have teddy bears and play video games. There are some aspects of childhood that never go away. And you will be amazed that some men still propose to ladies with love letters.
For me, I noticed that a lot of the things I did not enjoy in my childhood days, I am indulging in them almost to distraction. People ask me why I wear trousers so much. I tell them that it’s probably because I never wore them during my childhood days. So now, I have almost made my house a museum having them in shapes, colours and sizes.
So tell me readers, any childhood habit you are still guilty of indulging in?
