This is an abbreviation that most sports lovers know. In fact, many of them look forward to the ‘unveiling.’

But the message today is not about sports though the ‘V’ still stands for valuable.

Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo gave an interesting perspective to this abbreviation which I will share in this piece.

In the world of sports, M.V.P stands for Most Valuable Player but today we will talk about Most Valuable Person which is YOU!

Yes, YOU!

You are the MOST VALUABLE PERSON ever created on this earth. You are VERY VALUABLE to God.

Pastor Kingsley listed seven things that determine the VALUE of a person or an object.

The MAKER of a thing determines its value. The logo on a product determines its price. That’s why designer products are more expensive than other products. There is a painting by Picasso that was sold for $106.5m. The designer determined the price. You have a maker. He created you, a MASTERPIECE and determines your value, irrespective of what everyone else thinks.

The PURPOSE of a thing gives it value. Once you discover your purpose, it gives you value. But you have to WALK in that purpose. Dare to make your dreams come true.

The PRICE paid for a thing determines its value. You are EXPENSIVE. You were bought with a price(I Corinthians 6:20) God sacrificed his son to make you a worthy vessel and had to turn his back on him while he hung on the cross (Matthew 27:46, Habakkuk 1:13)

The RARITY of a thing gives it value. Diamonds are stones but they are rare, that’s why they are expensive. You are ONE OF A KIND. No one else in the world has your DNA or your fingerprints. Your value is in your uniqueness and your difference. Package yourself well.

The MATERIAL a thing is made of increases the price. When God wanted to make trees, he spoke to the earth so they cannot survive outside the earth. When God wanted to make YOU, he SPOKE to himself, …….Let us make man in our image…….. Genesis 1:,26. So you are MADE FROM GOD. Stay connected to him.

The LONGEVITY of a thing determines its value. You are an ETERNAL BEING. You will live forever long after this world passes away.

The OWNER of a thing affects its value. Michael Jackson’s gloves were sold for £41,000 after his death. You are a SPECIAL PERSON because you belong to God. (Deuteronomy 7:6)

You have to HOLD YOUR VALUE because you are very precious. Value who you are and what you do. Carry yourself with dignity. Even if you are not where you should be, talk about your future which is bright because you are connected to a divine source.

Everyone may not value you but remember that you are God’s MOST VALUABLE PERSON.
